UConn Pre-College Summer allows participants to gain an understanding of college academics by connecting them with outstanding UConn faculty members and industry professionals in their area of interest. PCS Faculty include University of Connecticut professors, and in some cases their graduate assistants, who are devoted, enthusiastic course instructors and leaders in their field of research. PCS Faculty teach students new concepts and material related to their academic interests, while also providing students the opportunity for independent learning.

Due to the relatively small class size of PCS courses (approximately 10-22 students per course), PCS Faculty are able to engage participants in hands-on course activities and open dialogue that contribute to their learning at the college level. PCS Faculty also aim to learn about participant interests and goals to inform and provide them with information about their desired major and potential career paths.
