UConn’s Pre-College Summer program welcomes students from around the globe.
International students have the opportunity to gain a strong understanding of what a U.S. college campus is like with this non-credit academic experience. Students can reside on campus within a community of peers, eating, sleeping, and attending academic sessions and workshops together. UConn offers resident students travel services to and from local airports, bus, and train stations. Students can also commute daily from their host family’s home.
UConn’s Pre-College Summer program is:
- One to four weeks in length
- Non-credit academic
- College preparatory experience
International students must be in the United States on a student or tourist visa, valid for the duration of the Pre-College Summer at UConn (we cannot sponsor a visa for this program). Prior to acceptance, you must provide us with evidence that you possess a student or tourist visa that is valid for the duration of the program.
If you are here on a student visa, you must provide us with written permission from your current visa sponsoring school to attend Pre-College Summer at UConn.
You must have health insurance and submit a UConn Summer Student Health Form which requires you to provide family emergency contact information, and the name of your family physician.
In addition to your program fee, you must arrange and pay for all of your travel to and from UConn’s Storrs, Connecticut campus. There are a number of ways to get to campus, whether traveling by car, bus, train, or airplane. For details please visit our travel page.
Note: Students are not eligible for an F-1 visa by attending this program.
